Until some time ago, I was willing to give some benefit of the doubt to BLM - if not to the organization, then to the movement - even though I had my issues with them. I was sympathetic towards the black American community - and still am - over their problems of police brutality and the intergenerational effects of slavery/segregation. I even wrote a message of support to one of its chapters, who seemed more politically centrist and less advocating of violence than other chapters.

Eventually, however, I decided that I really cannot give any support to either the organization or the movement. This was because of things like their support for race-based equity and their insistence that “systemic racism” and white supremacy are widespread. I wrote an article a few months ago discussing their racist annual tradition of boycotting white-run businesses during the holidays. There was also, as you noted, the apparent financial corruption of its leadership.

Anyway, very good article. Don’t be embarrassed by BLM. They’re not you and you’re not them.
