The 2004 Alamo film is definitely one of my favorite historical movies. It is indeed a shame that it didn't get the attention that it probably should have. I've wondered whether or not the political interpretation of some reviewers hindered its performance; one could see it as a representation of the "invasion" of Mexican immigrants.
