I’m sorry that you have experienced this, but don’t downplay the significance of it just because you’re white. That kind of thing just adds fuel to the trend of racism against whites - yes racism, not just prejudice - that we’re seeing today. As your experience in that moment reminds us, racism is a fault in the human condition that’s not limited to one group or another. Some racial groups may experience things more frequently than others, but in the end skin color does not determine whether a person has suffered more hardship than the next person.
