I assume you probably believe that nobody should be judged by their race. Why then should white people not express their displeasure over something that happened between fellow human beings? White people are hardly the only ones who did so in this case.

There is no such thing as whiteness besides the state of something being visually white in color. Using the word “whiteness” in the manner you do gives ammunition to the people who blame “black culture” for keeping black Americans in their relatively downtrodden state. If a certain subset of people within a racial group behave in certain negative ways, you don’t blame their skin. You blame the way they use the organ inside their heads.

With regard to the diversity of the Oscars attendees, if they found a way to reduce the selection bias that may have been present, that’s good. But the goal should not be representation. It should be the removal of any biases - in whichever direction - that impede people from getting what they’ve earned.
