Excellent article, Erica. It certainly is true that how a person lives is of much greater consequence than their death. And the internet does do a good job of remembering - that’s something we all have to think about before posting anything.

While I don’t think social media has exactly made humanity worse, I do believe it’s made our moral deficits more visible and therefore made easier for us to become stressed about the world. Social media is indeed one of the major fronts of today’s culture wars, and inevitably so. I find a great deal of social commentary on Medium to be irrational, but it helps to keep in mind that Medium is really just another social media site, rather than a news outlet.
