Agreed, Rex. Race-based equity may be well-intentioned, but it acts on broad presumptions of who is privileged and who is downtrodden. You simply cannot make those determinations from one's skin color. It's not possible to do so. Correlations between race and outcome do not surmount the fact that individual experiences, even between two people of the same race, vary immensely. And they do not always mean that discrimination is occurring. With regards to discrimination, the solution is not to favor certain skin tones over others to "balance out" the effects of discrimination. The solution is rather to remove the cause of discrimination and to redress any individual instances where it has happened.
